The Challenge

Time Was of the Essence

The biggest challenge facing this Federally funded business incubator and funding program was time. Run by the Research Innovation and Commercialization (RIC) Centre in the Toronto-area, the program needed to be ready for a public and media event in 30 days! There was no name, no logo, no web presence and no alternative but to get all of that done, and more … in a month.

The Strategy

Keep It Simple. Keep It Fresh.

The guiding principal on this Blade assignment was to “keep it simple.” Fortunately, the client team was a group of consummate professionals who made themselves available whenever needed; and they trusted Blade to develop a full identity package that appealed to the adventurous spirit of start up entrepreneurs. Venture Start was born!

The Result

Successful Launch. Fully Subscribed Program.

The public launch was a glowing success and kick-started the program, which incubated and funded a wide range of innovative start-ups, one of whom became a Blade client: SulfaCHAR. Blade delivered more than just a dynamic brand. We targeted the message to the innovation market to attract great ideas and their creators into the program. And then promoted the success of the program over its two-year lifespan – including the staging of various “Start-Up Challenge” events and culminating in a major event that celebrated all of the winners.
